Are You A Federally Employed Worker Who Tested Positive For Substance Use?
Have you been removed from your safety-sensitive duties because of your positive test?
Do you have to return to work as soon as possible, but you need clearance to do so?
Has your employer told you that you need to see a Substance Abuse Professional?
If so, then you’ve come to the right place. As a DOT-qualified SAP (Department of Transportation-qualified Substance Abuse Professional), I specialize in helping commercial drivers, commercial pilots, and other federally-employed transportation workers get the services they need to return to work. So if you’ve tested positive on a drug or alcohol test, I’m the one who can help you remain compliant, get back to your duties, and stay out of hot water with the DOT.
With me, there will be no drama and no delays—I’ll help you cut through all the red tape, handling the whole return-to-duty process every step of the way. My goal is to provide outstanding services throughout all stages of the evaluation, education, and follow-up process.
Let’s Face It: A Lot Is At Stake For You And Your Job Right Now
If you are removed from your safety-sensitive position or your license is downgraded, it could have serious consequences on your finances and professional life. You may have family members and loved ones depending on you for your income—including family members who don’t even know about your substance use. Additionally, you may be worried that if you’re fired, you won’t be able to find a position of equal pay.
Right now, you’re probably feeling ashamed, embarrassed, angry, and fearful. The good news is that you’re in capable hands. I have been helping federally-employed workers return to work since 2008, and my evaluations are quick, efficient, and executed with the utmost professionalism.

Who Can Benefit From A SAP Evaluation?
If you’re a federally employed worker in any of the following occupations, you are eligible for a substance abuse assessment with me:
CDL truck driver
Commercial airline pilot
Aviation mechanic
US Coast Guard
US pipeline worker
Federal Railroad Administration employee
What To Expect In The Substance Abuse Evaluation Process
The evaluation process is very straightforward. Once you reach out requesting an evaluation, I will schedule you for an appointment either on the same day you call or the day afterward. All you’ll need to bring is your driver’s license and a form of payment—I’ll take care of the rest.
Here are some of the things we’ll accomplish during the evaluation session:
A full biopsychosocial assessment of your history with substances and mental health problems
Various screening tests to rule out a substance abuse problem, including the Drug Abuse Screening Test, the MAST Michigan Alcohol Screening Test, and the AUDIT Alcohol Use Disorders Screening Test
A genogram to explore the history of substance use within your family tree
Educational resources and rehab recommendations if needed (many clients are able to avoid going to rehab)
After the evaluation is done, you will come for a second appointment to demonstrate that you’ve shown compliance with your SAP recommendation and DOT requirements. Once compliance has been demonstrated and you’ve passed the drug screen test, your violation will be cleared and you will be eligible to return to work.
Throughout the SAP evaluation, I will engage with you in a respectful, caring, and understanding manner. I will listen to your concerns and employ the highest level of professionalism. You will never be talked down to, nor will you be shamed for what took place. I will be efficient and effective, providing nonjudgmental clinical care and unconditional support.
Together, let’s clear your violation and get you back on the road to working and performing your safety-sensitive duties.
You May Have Some Questions About My Substance Abuse Evaluations…
How quickly can I get an appointment and return to work?
Most of my clients get an appointment the very same day they call! The timetable for the Substance abuse evaluation program varies from case to case, depending on the nature of the substance use issue and the steps completed, but many clients are able to resume working the same week as their evaluation.
How much experience do you have helping clients?
I have nearly 20 years of experience providing SAP evaluations for truck drivers, commercial airline pilots, and other DOT workers. Hundreds of federal, safety-sensitive employees have been in my care and have returned to work successfully, and I’m confident that you will experience the same results.
Will you work to coordinate my records with my employer?
Yes, your employer will be informed every step of the way! What’s more, I keep all of your records confidential in my Electronic Medical Health Record. So if several years have passed and you need your records sent to a new employer, you can rest assured that your records are easily accessible. I have also been in the same location since 2008 and I am always accessible by phone or email.
If You Need A Substance Abuse Professional, Look No Further
I provide virtual and in-person substance abuse evaluation services for federally employed workers throughout the US, and I’m only one phone call away. If you want to clear your violation and complete the return-to-duty process without having to navigate all the red tape, you can email me or call (201) 259-7229. I look forward to hearing from you!
